How to Set Up Location-Based Notifications

Location-based notifications send a message to a user’s lock screen when they’re near a spot you’ve set.

What You Need to Know

  • Only available on iOS devices.

  • Notifications appear directly on the lock screen.

  • Triggered within roughly 100 meters of your chosen location for passholders who have your pass installed in their wallet.

  • Up to 10 locations at a time. Delete locations to add new ones if needed

  • Analytics aren't available because these notifications are triggered locally on user's devices.

Add a location in Brand Portal

Quick Setup

  1. Go to Brand Portal > Locations.

  2. Enter your location by address or drag the map pin manually.

  3. Customize your message clearly and concisely to encourage action.

Testing Location-Based Notifications

  • If you set the location before adding the pass, you'll receive the notification once the pass is added and you're at that location.

  • If you set the location after adding the pass, expect a brief delay (up to 2 minutes) before receiving the notification at your current location.
